Gentlemen may prefer blondes, but the same cannot be said for their female counterparts. While being blonde may allude to more fun, a new study from WhatsYourPrice finds that when it comes to online dating, fair-haired hunks aren’t faring as well as others.

If you’re a brunette man searching for a hot date this summer, you may want to look online. WhatsYourPrice pulled data from more than 145,000 male members to find which hair colors scored the most dates in the months of June and July.

Men with brown hair scored the most dates, averaging 10 per month, followed by black hair with an average of 7 dates per month. Men with salt and peppered locks went on 6 dates, while guys with red hair averaged 4 dates. Blonde men proved to be the least popular, arranging just 3 dates per month. A study released by the Scandinavian Journal of Psychology found that men were more likely to approach a blonde woman in a nightclub.
